How To Start a Kansas Farmers Market EBT Program
Did you know? There are funds available RIGHT NOW to help your farmers market get the equipment it needs to get an EBT program up and running.
The EBT program is a great way to:
- bring additional income for your farmers market vendors and
- connect with individuals who do not have adequate access to fresh, local food
- provide an attractive option for people who want to shop at a farmers market, but forget to bring enough cash.
EBT machines can increase sales anywhere from 200 – 400%. Marketwide. Really!
But TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. A verbal commitment is needed from from you by July 15 (yeah - that is Sunday isn't it?) if you'd like to get in on that funding to help you get started.

Second: Call or Annarose [dot] Hart [at] kda [dot] ks [dot] gov (email) Annarose Hart and let her know you're in! DO THIS NOW!!!
Not sure??? Call or Annarose [dot] Hart [at] kda [dot] ks [dot] gov (email) Annarose to ask your questions.
It would be a shame to let this opportunity slip away. There are currently 18 Farmers Markets in 10 Kansas counties that are providing their customers with wonderful local foods through this program. Shouldn't your market be one of them?
