Keeping Kansas’ family farms viable is important to our local economies! Local food and local markets are one of the hottest topics in food and environmental circles! Make a difference by getting involved in the Kansas Farmers Market Conference, an opportunity to help agricultural entrepreneurs while promoting your organization or business to a select group of local businesses that have defined the words “Buy Local”.
We are excited to be holding the 6th Annual Kansas Farmers Market Conference at Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia on January 30, 2010. Focusing on market vendors, this conference will have breakout sessions and round table discussions on diversifying product offerings, extending the growing season, marketing with impact, planning for increased profitability, and much more.
The 2010 conference is adding an extra day just for market managers, board members and community organizers! In response to the desire for more in-depth coverage of issues vital to successful market operation, the conference will hold a separate session focused on the needs of market organizers at the Topeka-Shawnee County Public Library on February 1, 2010. We are working with the Farmers Market Coalition, among others, to develop an appropriate curriculum that will provide an intense learning environment.
Since 2004, the Kansas Farmers Market Conference has helped over 500 farmers and market organizers, giving them the tools they need to explore new market opportunities. This educational event is more than just an annual gathering of people and ideas; it is a forum created by and for agricultural producers, educators, economic developers, farm-based businesses and service providers from across the state of Kansas. The Kansas Farmers Market Conference is a catalyst for creating new farmers markets while strengthening and invigorating existing markets.
Kansas Farmers Market Conference vendor and organizer sessions have a combined budget of $9,500. These events simply could not exist without our partners who help provide the necessary financial resources. We hope you will consider joining us in creating a brighter future for local farms and local economies by underwriting the conference or becoming an exhibitor.
To Underwrite: You will find various levels of sponsorship below. The conference organizer, Kansas Rural Center, is a charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and your contributions may be tax-deductible.
